Sitting in the metro I look around and spot lots of people with great sense of fashion and I realized, Delhi is not just the capital of India; it’s safe to say it’s the capital of Fashion!
Girls with high ponytails wearing sneakers with the right combination of jacket and skirts, muscular guys with tattooed arms and long hair with cool T-shirts and ripped jeans, this city is full of fashionistas! It almost felt like these people have fashion in their blood! They know how to match everything from shoes to clips and hair!
Yes, they definitely have it in their blood! We are presenting a list of top fashion designers who hail from Delhi and have made the country proud with their enormous talent!

Anjana BhargavWith a formal degree in Textile Designing and Pattern from St. Martins College, London, Anjana launched her first fashion show back in 1994 soon followed by a solo FASHION SHOW “An Indian Sumer” at the UNESCO Hall in Paris. Each of her collection is a style symbol of its own with accessories on garments as a hallmark. In her interviews she has always insisted on designing “real clothes” for “real women” and focuses on comfort, wearability and affordability. Anjana was recommended by the Ministry of External Affairs to represent “Women Entrepreneurs” at the OECD Conference held in Paris, 2000.


Ashish SoniThis Delhi Based Fashion Designer started his career by launching his own label ‘Ashish Soni’ in the year 1991. He presented his Khajuraho costume collection, inspired by the thousand-year-old temples. He started off by offering men’s wear and then gradually extended his line to the women’s collection as well. He became the first Inian Designer to show at New York Fashion Week!


Ashima-LeenaThis duo’s main focus is on the tradition attire with influences from across the world. Ashima-Leena, being one of the most senior and recognized brands of the country, has created a unique style of their own, reflecting the ancient traditions of Indian craftsmanship in a contemporary vocabulary.
It combines Indian craftsmanship with innovative western silhouettes to create an enigmatic and distinctive look.


Anju Modi
Guided by her love for textiles and the Indian craft, her ethos are also the tenets behind the 27-year old label - Timeless. Vintage. Handcraft. Organic. This lady has set new milestones for her by designing costumes for movies like Ramleela and Bajirao Mastani.
These projects have helped her garner all the love from the industry along with the Screen and Star Guild Award for Ramleela and For Bajirao Mastani she received the Filmfare, IIFA, TOIFA Screen and Guild awards. As an artist, she draws inspiration from architecture, poetry, mythology and literature. The rich textile heritage and design legacy across the nation has always motivated her in creating her designs. Her work with traditional crafts like Chanderi Weaving, Kota Fabrics, Varanasi Zari work and Bandhani printing, have been at the core of the label, serving a niche market.

Rahul Singh Rahul Singh started off his label, Abhirahul in the year 2006 by debuting it at the Delhi Fashion Week Autumn Winter 2009. With his collection, he became an overnight success and bagged back to back shows in Bangalore Fashion Week and then Wills India Fashion Week fall/winter 2010 followed by Lakme Fashion Week. His collections are a treat to the film industry and he has designed wardrobes for the finest of the film fraternity like Amitabh Bachchan, Jaya Bachchan, Dimple Kapadia, and many others. He also styled the entire wardrobe for the movie Allah K Bandey directed by Faruq Kabeer starring Sharman Joshi.
